In diesem kurzen Blog Beitrag zeige ich Ihnen, wie Sie den „Authentication failed“ Fehler w\u00e4hrend eines Upgrades umgehen k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n

Mich erreichen derzeit einige Fragen zum Thema Upgrade der Studio X und G7500 Endpunkte. Im Speziellen geht es hier meist um die „Authentication Failure“ Thematik, die das Upgrade scheitern l\u00e4sst. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Hintergrund:<\/strong>
Innerhalb der Firmware Upgrade Pakete dient ein Zertifikat zur \u00dcberpr\u00fcfung der Upgrade Legitimierung und der Sicherheit. Dieses Zertifikat unterscheidet sich in den zur Verf\u00fcgung stehenden Software Versionen f\u00fcr die Poly Endpunkte. Es gibt das Zertifikat VOR der Software Version 3.2 und ein Zertifikat NACH der Software Version 3.2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wenn Sie also einen Endpunkt einsetzen der derzeit z.B. noch ein Software Release 3.0 installiert hat und Sie z.B. versuchen direkt auf ein Release wie Version 3.5 upzugraden, dann werden Sie den Fehler „Authentication failed“ angezeigt bekommen. Das Upgrade l\u00e4sst sich nicht durchf\u00fchren, da das Zertifikat nicht verifiziert werden kann \/ unbekannt ist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die L\u00f6sung ist allerdings ganz einfach und nennt sich „Zwischen-Update“.
Anstatt direkt auf das aktuelle Release 3.5 zu wechseln, bauen wir einen Zwischenschritt ein und updaten zuerst auf das Release 3.2.1. Danach gehts es dann auf die neueste Variante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wir gehen dazu wie folgt vor:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d6ffnen Sie Ihren Browser, rufen Sie das Webinterface Ihres Videoendpunkts auf und loggen Sie sich als Admin ein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Klicken Sie links in der Navigation auf „General Settings<\/strong>“ und anschliessend auf „Device Management<\/strong>„.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Im neuen Fenster klicken Sie in das DropDown Feld „Download Update from<\/strong>“ und w\u00e4hlen Sie „Custom Server URL<\/strong>„.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tragen Sie die folgende URL in das entsprechende Feld ein und klicken Sie auf „Update all“<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die URL verweist direkt auf ein Softwareverzeichnis auf einem Poly LENS Tenant. Sie k\u00f6nnen sich daher ein manuelles Upgrade per USB Stick oder das Installieren eines eigenen Upgrade Server in Ihrem Netzwerk sparen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
F\u00fchren Sie das Upgrade durch \/ warten Sie, bis das Upgrade abgeschlossen ist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nachdem das Upgrade abgeschlossen wurde loggen Sie sich erneut auf dem Endpunkt ein und rufen Sie die Device Management Seite auf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Klicken Sie abermals in das DropDown Feld und w\u00e4hlen Sie nun den zu nutzenden Upgrade Server aus (MSFT Teams Device Management im nativen Teams Mode oder Poly Support Site f\u00fcr die anderen Modi).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ihr Endpunkt erfragt nun die aktuellste, auf dem Server verf\u00fcgbare Software Version (hier 3.5). Klicken Sie auf „Update All“ um diese Version zu installieren. Es sollte nun kein „Authentication Failure“ mehr erscheinen und die Maschine sich korrekt upgraden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
